Sketched in pencil …. still learning. I might add more poppies in the distance and maybe some yellow flowers and then colour it with aryclic paint.
I hope to make it as bright as the photo below.

This is a drawing I have been working on for a dear friend who sadly lost her cat.

I completed the drawing and framed it before I had my first cataract done last week. I am second guessing myself now that I can see more clearly. I don’t want to alter the cat but I am wondering if I should add some more embellishments around the border or leave it as it is. Sometimes less is best. My friend knows I am not a professional artist, she will appreciate the gift.

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement.
My friend was very happy with the picture I made. 😀🦋🌾💓🌼🌺
Today I tried to draw flowers without a picture or a real flower to use as a guide.Looks more like a spider resting on a plate of red.
A new species of blue and silver rose with a hint of pink.
Another go at drawing a rose.
Just a simple flower.
More doodling
My father was artistic. He usually did Oil Paintings. He would take photos and use them for his subject to paint.

This painting of Queenstown in New Zealand was done in the 1950s.
Maybe I developed my passion for art from my father.
I am trying to draw a cat for a friend. Teddy always liked to sit on multi coloured rugs.
The bottom one was my first attempt a few weeks ago. The top one I did this morning.PS: My friend has chosen the darker drawing. I will now make a frame for it and the inscription will read ‘In loving memory of Teddy ‘.
My son called in today. The top drawing- has already gone to a new home. Gone to live with Koby my 4 year old grandson 🌝. Koby adores cats but cannot have one due to allergies.

Several months ago I mentioned in one of my blogs that I have cataracts in both eyes.
They were first diagnosed about four years ago and have got progressively worse.
In March this year I saw a new optometrist and got a second opinion. I was referred to the public hospital eye clinic. I knew the waiting list to be seen was long.
Almost 3 months ago I was seen. I was put on the Category 2 list for surgery.
I am booked to have the right eye fixed up on September 17th.
I am so blessed to be getting my eyes fixed up. Having blurred vision has affected my lifestyle somewhat, things such as no driving, difficulty reading books, problems finding items at the supermarket, had to move my chair closer to the tv, hard to do my art and craft things.
I now have a better understanding about the issues people have with permanent vision
Waiting at the Bus Interchange close to the Shopping Centre.
I always try to get there a few minutes earlier. The digital sign indicated that the 326 bus wouldn’t be arriving until 1.30pm, 15 minutes late. Oh well not to worry I will enjoy the sunshine, open up my pack of black jelly beans and check my phone.
Sitting on the seat by me is one elderly lady maybe in her 80’s, she has a walking frame and a hearing aid. I will name this lady Ms A.

Along comes a young man promoting the Big Issue Magazine. apparently the sales help the unemployed and homeless. I said “not today thank and I wish you all the best”. The attached photo I found on google – thanks google. After researching in google I now know that selling the Big Issue is a paid job for the young man so next time I will purchase a copy of the magazine.

I then spoke to Ms A and said “He looks young and fit enough to look for a job”. Ms A replied “Finding employment for the young people these days is not easy”. She then went on to tell me stories about her grandchildren that were doing well for themselves. I gave my son and two granddaughters a good report.
A lady had sat on the other side of Ms A . I will call this lady Ms B who was probably also in her 80’s with a little extra padding like me.

She joined in the conversation. Her first comment was about her husbands old job working in a tyre production place in the UK there was dust and he developed emphysema. They then decided to move to Australia for clean air and a better life. The lady had what I call would classify as ‘Flight of Ideas’. The next few statements from her were not related to our conversation.
Ms A sitting next to me said “Do you two know each other?”, I replied “No we have never met before”. She then turned to face me and try to ignore the lady doing all the talking who by the way continued to disclose.
I then suddenly had a hearing problem and decided to focus on the digital bus sign.
The 326 bus finally arrived. Ms A stood up to go on the same bus as me. We both said goodbye to Ms B
As we entered the bus I said to Ms A “well that was an interesting conversation”, she replied “it certainly was “.
Waiting at the bus stop is definitely entertaining and a great place to gain material for a writer.
PS: No offence was intended to the elderly in this blog.

Spontaneous painting today. I fear for people, their homes, animals and the trees that get consumed by fire. The bush fire season has started early here in Queensland …very sad. Controlled burn offs were in happening but unexpected fierce winds took over and then it became a disaster. I was going to add some flowers to the tree, my neighbour said it’s fine as it is.
