The warmer weather is definitely here in Brisbane which means it is also SNAKE SEASON.
There are 27 species with the most common being Carpet Python and Tree Snakes. The venomous ones include Coastal Taipan, Tiger Snakes, Rough Scaled Snake, Eastern Brown and the Death adder.
I found some photos of snakes on the internet supplied by Shutterstock. They are regularly found in Brisbane suburbs and some are considered to be highly venomous.
During the last month several snakes have been seen where I live. They come right up by the residential buildings. I recently heard that its only natural for snakes to be coming into residential areas and the reason is because houses are getting built further out from the cities and into the environment where snakes live. I actually live close to the Brisbane City CBD almost in a concrete jungle. Maybe its food and water they are searching for.
Snakes enjoy dining on frogs , very sad but its all part of the eco system.
The photos below were supplied by Qld Council and Snake Catcher Brisbane.com.au
I hope you enjoyed my brief story about snakes. I should add it is also Mosquito Season, they are bad where I live. The council say they do spraying but where and when I don’t know.
Omg. For sure It’s super scary to encounter snakes inside home. Terrible moments even to imagine.

I agree it is OMG. I haven’t had any snakes inside my place , I keep the doors shut. Some people have had them inside and had to call the snake catcher. I am terrified of them for sure.

I keep my doors and windows shut. If I go out to tend my plants or put washing out I take a can of insect spray for the mosquitoes and always watch out for snakes.

Eek. I’ve only seen two snakes in my life (and almost stepped on one), and I intend to keep it that way.

I really don’t want to encounter one so I am constantly on the lookout just in case. …scary.

We have snakes in Florida and some of the more modern housing areas were build to push out the snakes and they are poisonous. Homeowners have been bit.

As long as there is food and water they can survive in concrete jungles. Bowls of feed and water for residential pets left outside attract snakes and cane toads.

I’m not a fan of snakes although years ago I actually held one. I have a friend whose sister lives in Australia and I think she mentioned about the snakes being on people’s properties. Very scary.

I could never be enticed to hold one even with a professional snake person right there, the same goes for a spider.

The names of the snakes tell you a lot of what you need to know!

True, a very good indication. I see them all are potentially venomous.

It must be pretty scary to have snakes around your house but I have an idea of what it feels like because, while in the Philippines, a snake entered the kitchen of my wife’s house. Here in Italy we are immune from this kind of danger…

It is scary. I do what I can to prevent them getting into my unit.
