This morning I had the start of another episode of vertigo. Fortunately I had some Stemetil to take which helped.
I had to see the physiotherapist for ongoing treatment of arthritis in hip and knee. I mentioned about the vertigo so we decided to concentrate on that today.
I will gladly share the printed information about vertigo and recommended exercises.
I wish you a quick return to better health!

With this vertigo, does it feel as though your brain slides or lurches inside your head, causing the dizziness?

When I have bad episodes of vertigo I have dizziness, sometimes everything around me is spinning. I also get nausea like motion sickness.

But does your brain seem to slip just before the dizziness starts?

I have had some attacks of this and saw a specialist some years ago. I found that sleeping on my back seemed to prevent it from coming back. A year ago I tried sleeping on my side and got up and the room was spinning. So I have stayed on my back since then and no vertigo. I hope you will only have a mild attack and it will go quickly!

Thanks Anne for commenting. I am glad you have found a solution that works for you. I have been getting clusters of them since 2019. Fortunately not too many lately and short lived. I have a prescription of Stemetil to take when I feel the onset of one starting. I have never been able to sleep on my back, maybe I could try again and see how I go.
Have a good day, be well and happy ππ¦π·π».

I hope you are better now Amy my mother has suffered from vertigo for many years…she learnt to know what and when she felt it coming on and has always in the main managed it well most of the time…so far not something I have inherited from her π

Hi Carol sorry to learn that your mother suffered from vertigo. This last episode was short lived thank goodness. I took medication as soon as I felt the onset and also had physio π.

I have been getting reoccurring episodes since March 2019. My eldest daughter also suffers with it. I do my best not to let it control my life but sometimes I end up in bed or hospital for a few days when the episodes are severe.

2020 I can remember being in hospital three times. The last time was in October, the episode yesterday was stopped early. My daughter is managing well, only ever had a few mild attacks. Goodnight for now ππΌπ΄x

That’s odd … I’ve just spent last week jousting with a nasty bout of vertigo too that culminated in two days of vertigo migraines. Thanks for including that exercise. I use the one where you lay down and do the head rotations that way. I’ll certainly give this one a try too. I hope yours has gone now.

I’m glad you found my post useful. Vertigo is not uncommon. I often hear others mentioning it so I thought I should the information given to me. I hope you don’t get too many episodes, nasty stuff. My Monday attack was short lived thank goodness.
Stay safe and be well ππ¦
