Paying Respect to the people of Christchurch.

Christchurch New Zealand is where I lived for many years 1954  – 1980.  I am deeply saddened about the recent unnecessary massacre, the deaths and injuries to so many people. My prayers, love and support go out all those affected.   My family home is only 5 minutes walk from the Linwood Ave Mosque. The other Mosque by Hagley Park is also close by.  I have walked past both places many times and never ever would have imagined that such tragedy would happen.  My two brothers live right there, I am so thankful they are alright.

I drew these tulips today in memory of the people who have passed away. May they Rest In Peace . IMG_20190316_152102 (3)

    1. Thank you . I just feel so awful that I am stuck here in Brisbane and can’t be over there to support everyone. I know it is only a 4 hour flight, the budget doesn’t allow me to go anywhere just now. My thoughts and prayers are with them. x

  8. This appalling and mindless killing spree has been a terrible shock to the whole world, but it must have hit home even more for you as you know the place so well and you have family there. Thank you, Ally, for such a touching and thoughtful tribute to the victims, and your sympathies for those affected reflect all our own feelings.

    1. Thanks Alli. I really have no idea what is in the minds of people that do things like that. I also don’t understand why some people seem to think that the Muslim Community deserve what they got……. I am absolutely shocked.

  9. Tragedy is an understatement, isn’t it? No one should ever have to live through such trauma. It is incredibly devastating to know there is such hate in the hearts of some people. 😦 My hearts and prayers most definitely go out to all the survivors of these precious people. So sorry for the entire area~
