I have got numerous albums, scrapbook pages and boxes of photo’s dating back many years. I have uncluttered many things over the years so the family won’t need to deal with it. It is now time to deal with the photos.

My initial idea was to get four boxes one for each of my children and place the photos in the appropriate box.

Today I have changed mind . I have decided to keep up with technology, scan the photos and save them on individual USB sticks or onto disc’s.

Above is a photo of my first year at school. Looking at the photo I am the third one from the right in the front row, always tended to tilt my head to the right.  Sadly some of my school mates have passed on.

I did a google search and that’s where I got the bright idea to scan them. It will be a long tedious job for me but there is rush. I could of course go to Office Works and pay to have it all done for me.

The first thing to is sort through the photos and them into chronological order. Some photos will be disposed off and not even scanned.

Being a crafty type of woman I am going to do a canvas collage of me with all my different hair styles over the years……what a laugh that be.

I have better get working…….lots of happy memories.

 

I have published my first novella, a dream that I am happy to say I have achieved.

It is about the pros and cons of internet dating written with a comical view. The book also includes short stories of romantic encounters which makes an interesting read.

In 2012  while on holidays  in Penang I visited a Butterfly Farm. I took several  photos of butterflies depicting their stages in life.  I also took a photo of the pond  simply because I love frogs and the environment that they live in.  Every time I look at this photo is takes me back to my childhood. My father was a keen gardener,  loved fish and birds. At the family home we had 4 ponds that provided a home for goldfish, frogs and beautiful lilies. I know that this frog isn’t real but it doesn’t matter because I love it..   Enjoy .

 

Hello Readers welcome back to my blog site.

For a while now I have been writing a manuscript about my life which includes my childhood, siblings, parents, friends  and much more.  In conversation with others  I have  said that I am working on my memoir which in time will preserve history that other members of the family might be interested in. This morning I had a light bulb moment and decided to look up the meaning of memoir then consequently autobiography.  Memoir is a sub-genre category of autobiography……a record of events written by a person having intimate knowledge of them and based on personal observation.  The history of a person’s life written or told by that person…..centralised and more specific focus story telling.    The autobiography spans the entire life which includes childhood, family history, education and profession.                                                                                        I also quizzed a fellow author about his thoughts on the matter including whether to use real names or not.

After that enlightenment this morning I can now say that the manuscript in progress is an ‘autobiography’.

I have already written about the first 20 years of my life.  It’s amazing how much I can still remember.  When I pause and think about it all and where I am today there is one thing I cannot change ‘Family Roots Remain’.

There is so much more that needs to be documented.  I might even need to divide it into several editions.  Whether I publish or not is a decision I still need to make down the track but one thing is for sure the information will always be in the family history.

I had to abruptly stop working as a Registered Nurse in 2012.

I had always had a passion for writing. While in conversation with friends they would say ‘you should write a book’.

With a lot of spare time on my hands I decided to do an online writing course. I enrolled with Open Colleges Australia and completed a Certificate in Creative Writing.  I was pleasantly surprised at how well I did.

Being single I subscribed to an online dating site and it was then I had this bright idea about writing a book about it all……of course it had to be fiction.  Once I got started it really opened up a can of worms. I had so fun and enjoyment creating the chapters for book.

To follow my passion I had to DREAM and BELIEVE in myself to ACHIEVE.  I had to dispel any negativitiy that might creep in such as someone telling me that I would never ever get the book published……..I have proved that person wrong.

I hope you get to read my book. It might not be your cup of tea but I can assure you its a real eye opener. It’s not Fifty Shades of Grey but there is some love and romance in it as the title suggests.
