Recycling A Stretched Canvas

Here in self isolation I have plenty of spare time to do whatever I like. I have enough art and craft stuff to last me a lifetime.I painted over this old stretched canvas with gesso and pink aryclic paint, was just mucking around. I now need to add a subject. I have been thinking of flowers with butterflies, or birds on a branch, or maybe a lovely frog. Can anyone visualize what might look good ? Your thoughts wil be much appreciated.

  1. My view consists of green leaves waving in the air from its tree branch. The contrasting warm pink color blends well with a cooling green color. Another view is more of an Easter theme since the pink color there is of a pastel type.Whatever Easter eggs come out in contrasting colors is what I see.

      1. Weeping Willows are good to. They are majestic and with all their greenery, the focus would be on its dragging branches and green leaves amidst a pastel pink background. The green color in my opinion, needs to stand out. It will be a simple yet dramatic portrait as far as I am concerned.

  2. Hi Ally, hope you’re coping OK in isolation. We’re all in lockdown here in the UK too, and its an interesting time to say the least! Glad to hear you have all your art kit to keep you busy. Being a devoted medievalist and missing my visits to castles, I can see a castle ruin in the sunset. But whatever you do, I’m sure it’ll be lovely and I’d very much like to see it. Take care and stay safe. πŸ™‚
