I am trying to draw a cat for a friend. Teddy always liked to sit on multi coloured rugs.
The bottom one was my first attempt a few weeks ago. The top one I did this morning.PS: My friend has chosen the darker drawing. I will now make a frame for it and the inscription will read ‘In loving memory of Teddy ‘.
My son called in today. The top drawing- has already gone to a new home. Gone to live with Koby my 4 year old grandson 🌝. Koby adores cats but cannot have one due to allergies.

Aww I’m sorry to hear that. My cat passed away last year and it broke my heart. It’s hard to lose a pet.

I am sorry to hear that you lost your cat Michelle. It does break your heart. I had a budgie for 9 years.

Whiskers are hard to draw, they are curved and it’s difficult to get the right thickness.

True. Teddy was a Russian Blue . I drew black whiskers with a permanent marker pen, they looked terrible, they are meant to white or light grey

Could you try a bit of acrylic paint, or try and shade the fur but leave blank paper to make white lines for the whiskers?
